Hi, I’m Nirmala. I work in dZi Foundation in Kathmandu as a chef. I’m from the remote village of Chheskam in Solukhumbu but I moved to first Ramechhap and then Kathmandu when still young. I cook Nepali, Tibetan(mostly Sherpa), and continental food. But there’s nothing I haven’t tried my hands on or I am always ready to try new things. So this blog is going to feature some of my regulars, as well as some experimental ones. I also love knitting, reading books, gardening, travelling and other DIY activities. So, I am sure you will also see other fun posts besides cooking from time to time.

  1. Hi Nirmala! I’m so excited to find your blog. Thank you so very much for the amazing lunch in Kathmandu. It was a really special way to end our time in Nepal. You are lovely and so talented and I can’t wait to try out a few of these recipes. I hope some day to return the favor when you visit Colorado.
